January 2016

Christmas has gone, New year has gone ! Where does the time go? Who knows? All I know is that it gets there very quickly and I know it’s cliché, but clichés are usually absolutely true.

The lead up to Christmas was great for us at Fussels, especially with the Bath Christmas Market and although nowhere near as busy also the Salisbury Christmas market. The combination of the hustle and bustle of people trying to sort out their Xmas presents and gifts, the smell of mulled wine and seasonal foods, the waves of singing voices carrying the seasonal tunes of the well known (and sometimes not so well known) carols, combined to create a fantastic atmosphere that definitely needs to be experienced. I’m sure it’s as good for us as sellers as it is for the punters who come to buy our wares. It’s a happy, chatty and exciting experience for all and one I thoroughly recommend.

Now that has all passed and we’re back to the nitty gritty of winter and long dark days, however even though it’s not always easy to believe, the days are already getting a little longer, bit by bit. It helps that we’ve had a bright, very cold spell that has meant at last there hasn’t been so much grey cloud around. Despite my many years living in the country and understanding the ebbs and flows of the seasons, it seems to me that it’s noticeably getting lighter in the evening, earlier in January than ever before. Could this mean we should be looking forward to a super Summer? Hang on Hang on, steady tiger let’s not go there. After all, I remember what happened to Michael Fish and the Hurricane that was or maybe wasn’t!

Our new Fussels facility is coming on leaps and bounds now and we are hoping to be operational in the next couple of months! Yippee! Then hopefully we will be doing tours of the farm with the press working in the summer so that everybody can see how our Extra Virgin Rapeseed oil is created. I can’t tell you how excited we are about the prospect of seeing you here on the farm and sharing our passion for what we do directly with you. So watch this space if you are interested in finding out "HOW DO THEY DO THAT ?", it won’t be long.

Gotta go “Happy New Year”

I can’t tell you how excited we are about the prospect of seeing you here on the farm and sharing our passion for what we do directly with you.
